Ingredients:

  • 1 kilo loaf of ham (sliced into cubes)
  • 1 kilo of carrots (sliced into cubes)
  • 1-kilo sayote or chayote (sliced into cubes)
  • 1 large white onion (chopped finely)
  • 3 gloves of garlic (peeled and minced)
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 small can of evaporated milk
  • 1 small pack or can of Nestle cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:

In a medium pre-heated casserole, put the butter and then add to the onion and sauté for about 1-2 minutes. Do not cover the casserole to let it simmer.

When simmering, you can add the carrots and mix properly for about 2-3 minutes or until tender. Afterward, you can add the sayote and mix gently for about 1 minute before including the evaporated milk and the ham.

Let simmer for about 1-2 minutes and then add the Nestle cream mix gently before adding salt and pepper to complete the taste. Let boil for about 2 minutes on a low fire and make sure the creamy sauce does not evaporate.

When ready, serve the dish on a platter, along with the plain rice, and other dishes, and enjoy!
